Kapolei, O'ahu - The Idaho women's golf team built on yesterday's momentum to finish in the top-three of the Rainbow Wahine Invitational on Wednesday. Idaho had a brilliant showing throughout the tournament with three Vandals finishing in the top-10.
Idaho shot 3-over (291) on the last round making the team's final tournament score 14-over (878).Â
Valeria Patino continued to be consistent in the final round as she ended the tournament tied for 6th place. She moved up three spots on the leaderboard from yesterday to shoot even par (216) through the three-day invitational.Â
After shooting 2-under the day before, Senior Eddie Hsu fired an impressive 1-under (71) to finish out the tournament tied for eighth place with a total score of 1-over (217). Â
Yvonne Vinceri marked her best tournament finish as a Vandal on Wednesday as she placed tied for 10th in the individual standings. Vinceri, a freshman, shot par (72) for the round and finished with a total score of 2-over, 218.
Senior Vicky Tsai placed in the top-25 with a final round score of 5-over (77). Tsai had a solid showing during all three rounds and carded 11-over, 227 over 54 holes. Meanwhile, teammate Jenna Bruggeman shot an 8-over, 80 for her third round. Bruggeman finished her tournament play 19-over (235).
The third-place finish marks the end of the fall season for the Vandals.
