SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. -- The Idaho men's basketball team will face Cal Poly to round out the SoCal Challenge on Wednesday at noon.
LAST TIME OUT: The Vandals dropped their opening game at the SoCal Challenge to Utah Valley, 83-45. Junior Trevante Anderson led all Vandals in scoring with 13 points, shooting 6 of 7 from the free-throw line. JeMeil King and Gabe Quinnett each added six points.
SCOUTING THE MUSTANGS (1-4): Cal Poly enters Wednesday's matchup with a 1-4 record, following a 75-72 overtime loss to Nicholls on Monday.
Four players recorded double figures in the contest, as Alimamy Koroma led the way with 23 points on 9 of 15 shooting from the field. Camren Pierce dropped 11 points while teammates Kyle Colvin and Julien Franklin each added 10 points.
Cal Poly is scoring 65.8 ppg while allowing 66.6. Koroma leads the Mustangs in scoring as he averages 15.4 points while guard Jacob Davison adds 14.3 ppg.
SERIES HISTORY: Idaho and Cal Poly will meet for the 20th time in their series history. The Vandals hold a 12-7 record, winning the last four matchups. Most recently, Idaho defeated Cal Poly, 75-66 on November 25, 2017.

INSTANT IMPACT: Junior Trevante Anderson showed out in his first appearances as a Vandal, dropping 26 points against Long Beach State and 22 points versus George Fox. After his third double-figure scoring effort on Monday against Utah Valley, Anderson is averaging 14.4 ppg and 3.8 apg.
MONEY MIKE: Grand Canyon transfer Mikey Dixon has been as consistent as they come to start the season, leading Idaho with four double-digit performances. He is averaging 11.8 ppg and shooting 50 percent from behind the 3-point line.
ALL-AROUND EFFORT: Seven different players have scored in double digits so far this season. In the season opener, Trevante Anderson (26), Mikey Dixon (16), Rashad Smith (12), and Philip Pepple Jr. (10) scored at least 10 points against Long Beach State. In a 95-85 win over George Fox, Nolan Bertain (18), Yusef Salih (11) and JeMeil King (11) added double-figure performances.
