RESULTS
ST. GEORGE, Utah – Competition at the 2021 Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Swimming Championships continued on Thursday.
Katie Hale led the way with a fourth-place finish in the 50-yard free, while several other Vandals also had strong performances on day two.

Hale swam the fourth fastest 5-yard freestyle time in the prelims at 23.45 seconds. She improved her time to 23.28 seconds in the finals, also finishing fourth.

Rylie Jones narrowly missed out on the A-Final in the 50-yard free after posting the ninth fastest time in the prelims at 23.87 seconds. She would go on to take 11
th overall with a finals time of 23.90 seconds.

Zoe Froh moved up in the finals in the 500-free. She swam the 15
th fastest time in the prelims at 5:07.65, then cut more than three seconds in the final to finish in 5:04.38 to take 12
th.
Alexa Teneyck placed 23
rd in the prelims at 5:11.61 and finished 23
rd overall in the finals at 5:11.76.

Kaling Phung improved her standing by three places in the final of the 200-yard individual medley. She opened by earning the final spot in the B-Final at 2:09.08, then improved her time to 2:08.49 to take 13
th.
Bindi Pedersen placed 14
th overall in 2:08.63, and
Morgan Votava took 16
th at 2:08.99.

The Vandals also saw some success in the relays. Hale, Jones,
Natalie Crocker and
Emma Stahl placed fourth overall in the 200-yard freestyle relay at 1:34.54. Jones, Froh, Teneyck and Phung teamed up to take fifth in the 800-yard freestyle relay with a time of 7:34.09.
Ani Husaby,
Holly Keir, Hale and Crocker placed seventh in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:44.93.

Through two days of competition the Vandals are currently in sixth with 116 points. Northern Arizona leads the way with 192 points, followed by Grand Canyon (185) and Northern Colorado (182).
