Box Score SEATTLE, Wash.— The University of Idaho men's tennis earned their first win of the season, 5-2, over Seattle University Saturday evening.

Seattle won two out of three doubles matches to take the doubles point. Althaf Dhaifullah and Bruno Casino earned the only doubles win for the Vandals, 7-5, in the No. 2 spot.

In singles play Idaho won five out of six matches, securing the match win.

Alejandro Salvador Civera earned his first win as a Vandal in the number six spot, 6-2, 6-1.

Next, Francisco Bascon won 6-3, 6-2, in the number one spot.

After Bascon's win the Redhawks took the No.5 singles match, tying the match 2-2.

Dhaifullah added the third point for the Vandals, winning 6-3, 7-5, in the No. 2 spot.

Casino clinched the match win with a 6-2,6-7,6-4, win in the No. 3 spot.

Matteo Masala added another point for the Vandals in the final match, winning 3-6, 7-6, 6-1 in the No. 4 spot for his first win as a Vandal.

"Winning the first match of the season is always extremely tough. Seattle played well and took advantage of our slow start in doubles," said Head Coach Daniel Hangstefer. "However, I felt like the guys responded going into singles and ended up getting the job done. Overall, this was a successful weekend and it just feels so awesome to be back out on the courts competing again!"
