Diving Begins WAC Championships Thursday

LIVE RESULTS

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz.
– Idaho diving hits the road for the final competition of the year, the 2021 Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Diving Championships.

Championships begin with the 3-meter competition on Thursday, Feb. 25, with the 1-meter following on Friday, Feb. 26. Competition concludes on Saturday with the platform dive. Prelims begin at 9:30 a.m. PT each day, with the finals to follow at 5:30 p.m. PT.

The Vandals have seen three different student-athletes take first on the squad this season. Allison Shimp has led the way most often, and earned WAC Diver of the Week honors after winning both the 1- and 3-meter dives on Senior Day in Moscow.

Emily Mack and Hailey Faith have each led the Vandals on a given day as well. Mack has seen the most success in the 3-meter competition, leading the way for Idaho during both previous meets in Flagstaff this season. Faith led the Vandals in the 1-meter during the first visit to Arizona in December.

The Vandals wrapped up at the WAC Swimming Championships last week. Idaho sits in sixth in the standings with 335 points, close behind Cal Baptist in fifth.
