FRESNO, Calif. – The University of Idaho's men's golf team will begin their 2021 season with a trip down to Fresno for the Nick Watney Invitational on Monday, February 8-9. Hosted by Fresno State, the two-day competition will be played at the Sunnyside Country Club, starting with the first two rounds on Monday.
THE COURSE – Sunnyside Country Club will be played as a par-72 and features a 6,950-yard course. The Vandals are set to tee off starting at 8 a.m. PT.
THE FIELD – This 9-team tournament will feature Idaho, the hosts Fresno State, Long Beach State, Gonzaga, LMU, YU. St. Mary's, Pacific, and Seattle U.
THE LINEUP – On the course for the Vandals will be sophomores
Jack Plaster and
Colt Sherrell, freshman
Jose Suryadinata, junior
Joel Veenstra, and graduate student
Sean Mullan.
COACH NUHN ON THE TOURNAMENT - "Could not be more excited to get back on the road and compete again. Although the travel and some on-site procedures will be new and different, once we get out there and tee it up, it will feel so good to be back playing tournament golf. I know the guys are ready, I'm certainly ready, our family and fans are ready. It's going to be great!"
LAST TIME ON THE GREEN – The last time the Vandals competed was last March when they hosted the Bandon Dunes Championships. The Vandals finished 15
th overall with Plaster finished in a tie for 64
th.
