Box Score MOSCOW, Idaho- The University of Idaho women's tennis team fell to the University of Oregon Sunday morning in Eugene, 4-3.
 
To begin the match Oregon took a 1-0 lead, winning two doubles matches. The third doubles match was unfinished.
 
In singles play the Vandals battled to the end but came up just short. Katherine Jhang earned the first singles win for the Idaho. The freshman defeated Ares Teixido Garcia, 6-3, 6-1, in the No. 5 spot.

In the No. 2 spot Melissa Huchet took an early lead, winning the first set 6-3. However, Lillian Mould came back to defeat Huchet, 7-5, 1-0 (10-1,) earning another point for the Ducks, taking a 5-1 lead in the match.

In the No. 6 spot, Marta Magalhaes took a 6-4 lead over Madisen Olsen, then finished off the win, 7-6, winning 19-17 in a tie-break battle.

"We played a solid match," said Head Coach Babar Akbar. "They definitely played better in doubles. In singles on courts 1,2,5 and 6, we were competitive. On courts three and four they played much better. Overall they were a better team today but I saw a lot of fight on most of the courts which is positive and what we are looking for. We've got a few weeks to work and get better for the season so we are looking forward to that."
