KYLE, Texas – Junior
Vicky Tsai and
Valeria Patino finished strong in their final round of the Texas State Invitational, helping the Vandals to a 6
th place finishes in 15-team field. As a team, the Vandals carded a three-round score of 31-over, 895.

"We had a lot of good things happen for our first event in 11 months," said Head Coach
Lisa Ferrero. "Every round we improved, and we had two golfers shoot under par. We still have a few things to work on, but I am really proud of the effort and determination of this team."

Junior
Vicky Tsai had the best round of the tournament for the Vandals in her final 18 holes. Sinking five birdies in her final round, Tsai finished the final round carding a 3-under, 69. After a five-stroke improvement from the second round, Tsai finished in a tie for 13
th with a tournament score of 4-over, 220.

Senior
Valeria Patino also caught fire in the third round, improving by seven strokes from her previous round. Patino's best round came on the final day where she fired in 5 birdies in her final 18 holes to give herself a third-round score of 2-under, 70. Patino also tied for 13
th place with a tournament score of 4-over, 220.

Graduate Student
Jaime Bellingham fired in one birdie on her final round. Bellingham finishes in a tie for 35
th and cards a tournament score of 10-over, 226 to open her 2021 season.

Six strokes behind came graduate
Laura Gerner. Sinking one birdie in her final round, Gerner finished in a tie for 50
th with a total score of 16-over, 232. Junior
Eddie Hsu tied for 63
rd and carded a 21-over, 237.

Tulsa took home first place with a team score of 5-under, 859. Individually, Hanna Alberto claims the sole possession of 1
st place with a score of 15-under, 216.

The Vandals are back on the course Monday – Tuesday on March 1-2 for the Grand Canyon University Invitational.
