MOSCOW, Idaho – While Idaho basketball teams prepare for the conference tournament this week, this edition will focus on Vandal basketball players who are continuing their careers at the professional level.
Mikayla Ferenz has led the Musel Pikes to an 8-1 start in the Luxembourg-Total League. After suffering their first loss last week, Musel Pikes rallied back strong with a dominating win against Sparta 91-23. Ferenz is leading her team in scoring this season, averaging 15.3 points per game. Ferenz and Musel Pikes will look to keep this momentum going into the second half of the season.
Trevor Allen plays for Polpharma Starogard Adanski in the Poland-EBL. With the regular season ending in just a few games, Polpharma sits in last place with a record of 5-23. Allen has been a focal point for Polpharma, averaging 19.3 points and 5.2 assists per game in his first season professionally.
Maren Austgulen and the Ulriken Eagles return to action next week for the final two games of the regular season. Ulriken is undefeated this season and sits in first place in the Norway-Kvinneligaen standings. Austgulen has been a key contributor to this undefeated season, averaging 10.7 points and 6.4 rebounds per game.
Marvin Jefferson and Akhisar Belediye are on a three-game losing streak after their 100-54 loss against third ranked Konyaspor. Jefferson has averaged 14.8 points and 8.3 points rebounds. Akhisar Belediye sits in seventh place and just making the playoff cut. With only two game left until the playoffs, each game will be critical in maintaining a playoff spot.
Victor Sanders plays for Trento in the Italian league overseas. Coming off a 61-60 victory against top ranked Milano, Sanders and Trento snapped a five-game losing streak in the Italy Serie A. Sanders is averaging 9.8 points and 2.1 rebounds off the bench this season. Sander will need to continue his solid contributions off the bench to keep the momentum going for Trento.
