Vandals Open Outdoor Season at Whitworth Essential Invite

WOMEN'S RESULTS | MEN'S RESULTS

SPOKANE, Wash. –
The University of Idaho outdoor track and field teams were in action for the first time on Friday at the Whitworth Essential Invite. The meet was the first outdoor meet for the Vandals since 2019. The Vandals racked up 18 wins in the meet.

"I thought it was a solid opening meet. It was exciting to watch our student-athletes run outdoors again – no one has run outdoors for a couple years, so it's exciting to see them get some of the nerves out," said Director of Track and Field/Cross Country Tim Cawley. "We had a lot of wins and got some good PRs today. I still think there's some execution we can improve on, but obviously this is early in the year and that's how it works. I thought we ran great. We're in a good spot moving forward and I'm excited to see how the season progresses."
