MOSCOW, Idaho – Idaho football closes out the regular season home slate with a 12 p.m. kickoff against Southern Utah on Saturday, March 27. The game will be streamed live on PlutoTV, channel 1060, beginning at 11:45 a.m.
Â
ABOUT IDAHO: The Vandals (1-1, 1-1) enter the matchup at .500 after facing two teams currently ranked inside the top-15 of the most recent STATS FCS Poll. Idaho has spent the last two weeks off after having its road contest at NAU pushed back to later in April.
Â
ABOUT SOUTHERN UTAH: The Thunderbirds (1-2, 1-2) enter the matchup after a strong 34-24 win at Cal Poly two weeks ago. Despite being 1-2, SUU has a positive scoring margin on the year. Its first loss came in week one on an NAU touchdown on the final play of the game, giving the Lumberjacks the one-point win. Things were similar in week two, with Idaho State taking the last-minute victory to win by two.
Â
BACK AT IT: Idaho had its last game postponed due to Covid-19 protocols. The matchup with NAU originally scheduled for March 13 has been pushed back to April 17.
Â
BACK AT THE TOP: Special teams have always been a focal point for the Vandals and this season is no different. The Idaho punting unit currently leads the country in net punting, averaging 45.0 yards per punt. The kickoff return unit, which led the FCS in 2019, is currently fourth in the nation while averaging 30 yards per return.
Â
TOUGH DRAW: The Big Sky Conference is showing why it's one of the toughest conferences in the country. Three programs are currently ranked inside the top-15 in the STATS FCS Poll, with Idaho just on the outside as the top team receiving votes.
