Four Vandals Earn Postseason Big Sky Honors

FARMINGTON, Utah— Four Vandals earned postseason honors as announced by the conference office Sunday. Three Vandals were selected to the Big Sky All-Conference team this season following the conclusion of the regular season and one Vandal earned an individual award. Sophomore Beyonce Bea and senior Gabi Harrington headline the Big Sky All-Conference First Team. Junior Gina Marxen earned an All-Conference Second Team nod. In addition to the All-Conference awards, junior Hailey Christopher was named the Big Sky Conference Top Reserve.

The All-Conference selections and awards are the first for Harrington and Christopher. Marxen earned First Team honors last year while Bea made the Third Team.

This is the second consecutive year the Vandals have featured three All-Conference players. Christopher nabs the first individual award for the Vandals since the 2018-19 season when Mikayla Ferenz was named Most Valuable Player and Marxen earned Freshman of the Year.

Beyonce Bea

Beyonce Bea, finished her sophomore campaign scoring 16.5 points per game and averaging 7.8 rebounds per game. She also led the Vandals in blocks with 1.2 per game. Bea finished as one of the top scorers and rebounders in the Big Sky, ranking inside the top six in both categories. The Washougal, Washington native earned Big Sky Player of the Week honors twice this season and was also recognized by Collegesportsmadness.com as the Player of the Week for the Big Sky once this season. Bea had a career-high 33 points against Seattle U and 15 rebounds against Portland State earlier this year.

"Beyonce is having an outstanding season," said Head Coach Jon Newlee. "She has worked hard to continue to improve and expand her game and I think it really showed in the year she had and being selected first team All-Big Sky. She has taken her all around offensive versatility up a level, worked much harder defensively and showed a lot of improvement rebounding the ball this year. Beyonce has been such a big part of our team's success and I'm happy for her that she has been selected for this well-deserved honor."
