SAM ADAMS CLASSIC RESULTS | SILVER STATE CLASSIC RESULTS
SPOKANE, Wash. – The University of Idaho outdoor track and field teams competed at the Sam Adams Classic in Spokane as well as the Silver State Classic in Las Vegas this weekend.
"We had another excellent weekend. The team is still putting things together and we are moving in the right direction. We had some great performances this weekend. Things are in a good place as we progress in the season," said Director of Track and Field/Cross Country
Tim Cawley.
At the Silver State Classic hosted by UNLV, the Vandal men finished in second place while the women were fourth.
Caleb Hagan took second in the 100m, finishing in 10.38 as the top collegiate finisher.
Jurrian Hering was fifth in the event (10.64). Hagan was also fourth in the 200 in 21.13. In the 400m,
Spencer Barrera took first in 47.31. Vandals took the top three spots in the 800, led by
Lorenz Herrmann who took first in 1:53.75.
Ben Shaw was second (1:54.49) and
Shea Mattson was third (1:54.89).
Ben Doucette won the 110m hurdles in 14.07, while Hering was third in 14.41. In the 400 hurdles,
Deyondre Davis finished first in 52.00, while
Cole Alteneder was third (53.64) and
Alex Ayers was fifth (53.79).
Sam Fulbright was first in the 3000 steeplechase in 9:26.6.
Zachary Nunis won the long jump with a leap of 24'1"/7.34m and
Britt Ipsen was third (23'1.75"/7.05m). Nunis also finished first in the triple jump (50'0"/15.24m).
Joseph Ruddell was second in the high jump (6'4.75"/1.95m).
Grady Leonard won the hammer with a throw of 199'7"/60.84m, was third in the shot put with a mark of 57'5.76"/17.52m, and also took sixth in the discus (166'1"/50.63m).
Cullen Williams was second in the hammer (198'1"/60.37m).
Nathyn Maller finished second in the javelin with a toss of 189'7"/57.78m.
In the women's 400m,
Camryn Crouch was third (57.26) and
Olivia Martin was fourth (57.60).
Anna Pecha was third in the 800 in 2:14.54. In the 400m hurdles, Prabhasha Wickramaraachchi was sixth (1:03.22) and Franziska Stoehr was seventh (1:04.46).
Julia Hayes was second in the high jump with a mark of 5'5.75"/1.67m.
Airiana Dargan was fifth in the long jump (18'1.5"/5.52m). In the triple jump,
Kalani Hardyway took third (37'6"/11.43m),
Ellie Grant was fourth (35'8.75"/10.89), and Greta Kuhne was fifth (35'0.25"/10.67m).
Hannah Ringel placed second in the shot put with a mark of 48'6"/14.78m while
Erika Larsen was seventh (41'4.25"/12.60m) and
Victoria Rae was eighth (39'7.75"/12.08m). In the discus,
Keeley Rasmussen was fourth (138'8"/42.28m), Rae was sixth (138'3"/42.13m), and Larsen finished eighth (132'9"/40.47m). Rasmussen (167'1"/50.94m) and Larsen (159'8"/48.68m) were sixth and seventh, respectively, in the hammer.
At the Sam Adams Classic, hosted by Whitworth,
Caleb Seely won the 1500 in 3:54.27.
Dwain Stucker was first in the 10k with a time of 30:55.42.
Tim Stevens was fifth in the 5k (14:44.41), while
Michael McCausland was seventh (14:46.99) and
Gabriel Dinnel was eighth (14:50.41).
Leah Holmgren won the 800 in Spokane in 2:15.09.
Malaina Thacker took first in the 1500 in 4:25.09, while
Faith Dilmore was fifth (4:39.90) and
Maya Kobylanski was sixth (4:45.08) in the event.
Nell Baker won the 10k in 37:19.37 while
Jolene Whiteley was third (38:49.34). In the 5k,
Celie Mans was second in 18:32.43 and
Mia Hill was fifth in 19:15.95.
Next up for the Vandals is the Idaho Invitational. The only home meet on the schedule this year, the event will be on April 24 at the Dan O'Brien Track and Field Complex in Moscow.
"We'll be hosting a home meet next weekend and I think everybody is excited to compete at home at the track they train so hard at. It'll be great to see how things go and we're looking forward to it," said Cawley.
