MOSCOW, Idaho – The University of Idaho women's tennis team will continue Big Sky Conference play this weekend at home against Portland State.
The Vandals and Vikings will face off on Saturday, April 10, at 1 p.m. in Lewiston at the LCSC tennis courts.
Idaho enters their second Big Sky match of the season in fourth place in the North division standings with an 0-1 record. The Vandals are 2-6 overall on the season.
Per the new format this season, only the top two teams in each division will advance to the Big Sky Championships.
Portland State is 2-0 in league play and 7-9 overall. The Vikings sit atop the North Division and are 5-7 on the road this year.
Katherine Jhang leads the Vandals in singles wins this season with a 5-3 overall record. She ranks first in the Big Sky in No. 5 singles win percentage with a 2-0 record. In addition, Jhang is 3-2 in the No. 3 spot and 0-1 in the No. 4 spot.
Last week against Eastern Washington Jhang earned one of only two singles wins for the Vandals, winning 6-4, 4-6, 6-1, in the No. 3 spot.

Melissa Huchet,
Marta Magalhaes and
Laura Spataro are all just behind Jhang, each with two singles wins.
Chen earned her second win of the season last week over the Eagles in No. 4 singles, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3.
Huchet and Spataro lead the Vandals in doubles this season with a 3-3 record from the No. 1 spot. The duo defeated the Eagles 6-4 last week, helping the Vandals to the doubles point.
