RESULTS

OGDEN, Utah. –
The Idaho men's track and field team placed third at the Big Sky Conference Outdoor Championships and the women finished in fifth place. Individually, the Vandals earned 12 medals, including two golds, on the final day of the Big Sky Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday. Tayler LyDay won the triple jump while the men's 4x400 relay team took first in its race.

"I'm so proud of the team. On both sides it's the most points we've ever scored and on both sides it's the highest we've placed since we've been back in the Big Sky. To get that top-3 spot on the men's side, especially with it coming down to the 4x400, was so exciting," said Director of Track and Field/Cross Country, Tim Cawley. "Both teams in the 4x400 fought so hard and it was a culmination of everything I saw from the entire team throughout the whole meet. The whole team just fought through everything they could. They supported each other so well and it has been an amazing weekend to watch. This team is really special. I've got amazing assistant coaches and they did an incredible job. It was a fun day, a fun weekend, and I'm really proud of this team. I think we're going to sneak a few more into nationals which will be fun so we'll keep moving along."
