MOSCOW, Idaho – This edition of Vandals in the Pros will focus on former Vandal men's basketball players who are continuing their careers at the professional level.
Victor Sanders plays for Trento in the Italian Serie A. He averaged 10.2 points per game, 2.0 assists per game, and 1.9 steals per game, helping lead the team to a playoff berth. Trento fell to the No. 1-seeded Milano, 74-65, in the quarterfinals.
Marvin Jefferson's season also just wrapped up. He plays for Akhisar Belediye in Turkey, averaging 16.1 ppg, 8.9 rpg, 1.3 apg, and 1.7 bpg. He scored in double figures in 24 of the team's 27 games. The team finished the regular season in sixth place in the Turkish Basketball League, falling in the quarterfinals.
In his first year as a professional,
Trevon Allen had a standout season. He played for Polpharma Starogard Gdanski in Poland and averaged 19.4 points per game which was the third highest in the EBL. He also pulled down 5.2 rpg, dished 2.8 apg, and tallied 1.3 spg.
Mike Scott played for the Salt Lake City Stars in the NBA G League. He averaged 9.7 ppg and 3.8 apg in 12 games during the 2021 bubble season.
Kyle Barone played for Tokyo Z in the Japanese B2 League. He scored 13.6 points per game and pulled down 8.1 rebounds per game during the 2020-21 season.
Arkadiy Mkrtychyan recorded 14.5 ppg and 12.9 rpg during the 2020-21 season for the Mad Foxes in the Armenian League A. He also dished out 4.9 apg and tallied 1.3 spg. The team fell in the semifinals of the playoffs.
Brayon Blake played a pivotal role for Sigortam.net in the Turkish league. While averaging 30.0 minutes per game, Blake has been averaged 16.0 points and 6.4 rebounds during the 2020-21 season.
