MOSCOW, Idaho – Two Vandal alums have signed with new teams in the Italian league. Trevon Allen will join Cantu, while Victor Sanders has signed with Umana Reyer Venezia.
Vandal graduate Trevon Allen has signed a new contract with Cantu basketball in the Lega Basket Serie A in Italy. Allen, who graduated in 2020, played last season for Polpharma Starogard Gdanski in Poland. He had a standout first season as a professional, averaging 19.4 points per game, which was the third highest in the EBL. He also pulled down 5.2 rpg, dished 2.8 apg, and tallied 1.3 spg.
The Lapwai, Idaho, native joins Cantu, a team with a storied history in Europe, having won 12 European trophies in addition to three Italian League titles and two Italian Supercups. Â Â
Victor Sanders will play with Umana Reyer Venezia, also in the Italian Serie A. Sanders played last season at Dolomiti Energia Trentino in Italy. He was named All-Italian Serie A Honorable Mention after scoring 9.8 ppg, 2.2 rpg, 2.3 apg, and 1.4 spg.
Reyer Venezia has won the Italian League four times, including in the 2018-19 season.
Both Vandals left Moscow in the top 10 on the all-time scoring list, with Sanders scoring 1,804 career points, the second most all-time, while Allen is seventh with 1,395 points.
The 2021-22 Italian league season is slated to begin this fall. Â
