SEATTLE – The Idaho men's tennis team dropped a neutral site match to Utah State, 6-1 on Saturday afternoon at the Nordstrom Tennis Center.  

"We have to make sure we capitalize on opportunities in the doubles," Head coach Daniel Hangstefer said. "After losing the doubles point we dropped our energy too much in the singles. We need to make sure we have great energy throughout the whole match. A good learning experience and this will only make us better as we progress through the season. There is so much upside to our team. I am looking forward to how we respond after this. For now, we need to get ready for our match tomorrow."

Francisco Bascon and Bruno Casino moved to 2-0 on the season at the No. 1 doubles spot for Idaho after defeating Utah State's David Cierny and Bodin Zarkovic, 6-4 on court one. The Aggies were victorious on courts two and three to capture the doubles point. 

Spaniard Alejandro Salvador Civera tallied his first singles victory of the season by defeating Javier Ruiz. Salvador dropped the opening set, 6-3 before taking the next two sets, 7-5, 11-9. 

Utah State won the other five singles matches in straight sets to win the match 6-1. 

The Vandals move to 0-2 on the season while Utah State goes to 2-1 overall. 

NEXT UP -  The Vandals will finish out their road trip in the Pacific Northwest as they go up against Washington today at 12 p.m.
