LAS VEGAS – The Idaho women's tennis team competed against some of the best programs in their region at the 2022 Intercollegiate Tennis Association Mountain Region Championships in Las Vegas over the weekend.

Lena Beckx earned two victories in singles and doubles play in her first regional tournament. She posted an opening round win in singles over Lauren Dunlap (Montana) 7-6 (7-3), 2-6, 1-0 (10-7). Beckx and doubles teammate Saffron Dowse went 1-2, earning a victory over Utah Tech's Ya Chi Hsu andRachel Mellor, 8-3. 

Partners Valentina Rodas and Rachelle Starreveld went 1-1 over the weekend, picking up a win over Weber State's Megan Lombardi and Dylan Lolofie, 8-1. 
 
The Vandals return to action at the Gonzaga Invitational for a three-day tournament, Oct. 28-30 in Spokane, Wash.
