MOSCOW, Idaho – The Idaho volleyball team (4-23, 1-14 BSC) fell in a highly-contested five-set (25-23, 23-25, 25-23, 20-25, 13-15) match against Northern Arizona (5-17, 4-11 BSC) Friday night on ICCU Court at Memorial Gym.
The Vandals surged out of the gate to an opening frame, 25-23 victory, before falling in the contest's second set, 23-25. Idaho regained the match lead following a third set, 25-23 win before NAU closed out the match with wins in sets four and five.
Idaho true freshman outside hitter Olivia Gloeckner once again shined for the Silver and Gold, recording her fourth double-double of the season with a career-high 23 kills and 11 digs. This marks her eighth double-digit kill effort and second game with at least 20 or more.
Freshman setter Kate Doorn posted her second double-double of the season after recording a personal best 47 assists and 13 digs.
The Vandal attack received steady contributions offensively and defensively from
Allison Munday and Taryn Vrieling, who each tallied double-doubles. They each posted 16 kills while Vrieling added 16 digs and Munday posted 11.
Libero Aine Doty paced the Vandals in digs with a team-high 18. She has now recorded 10 or more digs in 21 matches this season.
For the Lumberjacks, five attackers recorded double figure kills in the effort, as Jordan Elder had a team-high of 15.
The Vandals wrap up the 2022 season on Saturday against Northern Colorado at 6 p.m. Idaho will honor
Allison Munday and Haley Pelton for Senior Day.
