MOSCOW, Idaho – University of Idaho student-athletes earned a 3.32 cumulative GPA in the Spring 2022 semester, the athletics department announced Monday.
This is the 17th consecutive semester that Vandal student-athletes posted a cumulative 3.0 or greater. 241 (76 percent) student-athletes earned a 3.0 GPA or better, with 78 achieving a perfect 4.0 GPA. Thirteen of fourteen programs earned a cumulative 3.0 or higher, with women's cross country (3.76) and soccer (3.70) leading the way.
"Once again I could not be prouder of the success our student-athletes achieved in the classroom," Associate Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Support Services Krista Gray said. "17 consecutive semesters of a department GPA well over a 3.0 shows not only our students' dedication to their academic achievement but also the level of student that our coaches are recruiting to Idaho. With the coaching changes that a large number of our student-athletes had to navigate, I am thrilled that their commitment to the student side of being a student-athlete never wavered."
Soccer (3.70) and football (3.06) set new program records for team semester GPAs.
