Four Vandal Teams Hit Perfect APR scores

INDIANAPOLIS – Four Vandal teams posted perfect four-year NCAA Academic Progress Rate scores of 1000 and 12 of Idaho's 14 teams improved their overall APR's or stayed the same for the 2020-21 academic year. The public report returns after a one-year hiatus due to the Pandemic.

Men's and women's cross country and men's and women's golf posted perfect scores of 1000 for consecutive seasons. It was the fourth-consecutive perfect score for women's cross country and the team-high seventh consecutive perfect score for women's golf.

Women's swimming and diving, women's volleyball, women's track and field, and women's basketball and women's soccer all posted scores above 990.

Vandal Volleyball made a 15-point jump in the two years since the last report.

Each academic year, every Division I sports team across the country calculates its APR using a simple and consistent formula. Each term, scholarship student-athletes can earn 1 point for remaining eligible and 1 point for staying in school or graduating. For schools that do not offer scholarships, recruited student-athletes are tracked.

The Academic Performance Program has established an essential framework for academic excellence. The program provides measurable goals to ensure schools are fulfilling their commitment of equipping student-athletes with the tools and resources necessary to achieve academic success.
