MINNEAPOLIS – The Idaho cross country women finished 10th and the Vandal men finished 14th at the 36 annual Roy Griak Invite, hosted by the University of Minnesota, on Friday morning.
Kelsey Swenson led the Vandal women with a 6k time of 21:12.8 to finish 11th overall.
Maya Kobylanski followed 16 seconds behind in 24th place crossing the finish line at 21:28.8 while
Katja Pattis rounded out the top-50 for Idaho, finishing 46th with a time of 21:51.8
Leah Holmgren and
Nathalia Campos placed 77th and 79th, respectively. Holmgren clocked in a time of 22:15.7 and Campos finished in 22:19.8.
Abigail Thomas and
Elise Abbott rounded out the final scorers for the Vandals, with Thomas finishing 96th (22:40.4) and Abbott placing 119th (23:11.1).
Tim Stevens led the men in the 8k, placing 48th with a time of 25:10.3.
Lorenz Herrmann followed 10 seconds behind in 60th crossing the finish line in 25:20.1.
Sam Fulbright was the next Vandal to cross the finish line. He placed 102nd overall in a time of 25:59.8.
Shea Mattson finished in 26:03.0 to finish 107th overall.
Up next, the Vandals will take next week off before returning to competition for the LC State Invitational in Lewiston on Saturday, Oct. 8.
