ST. GEORGE –  Idaho women's tennis beat Utah Tech (0-5), 4-3, on Saturday at the UT Tennis Courts.
 
The Vandals (1-3) posted a clean sweep in doubles and earned three victories in singles to clinch their first win of the spring season.

Jayanne Palma and Selin Sepken got doubles play started with a 6-1 decision at No. 3. Rachelle Starreveld and Saffron Dowse followed with a 6-2 victory on court two to secure the doubles point. 
 
In singles, Utah Tech took the first match to even the score at 1-1. Annabel Davis responded with a 6‐4, 7‐5 result at No. 2 to regain the advantage for Idaho before the Trailblazers evened the score once again at No. 6. 

Valentina Rodas and Sepken closed out the match on courts one and four clinching the final points to secure the victory. Sepken posted a 6‐2, 7‐6 (10‐4) result over Utah Tech's Annemiek Sterk while Rodas battled back from down a set to earn a 4‐6, 6‐4, 6‐4 victory for the clinch.  
 
Up Next
The Vandals host their home opener at the Kibbie Dome on Saturday, Feb. 18 against the University of Portland. The match gets underway at 10 a.m.
