PHARR, Texas -- The Idaho swim and dive team wrapped up day three at the Western Athletic Conference Championships on Friday night at the Pharr Natatorium.
Idaho sits in seventh with 208 points while Northern Arizona is the third-day leader.Â
Day three started with the 400 IM where two Vandals advanced to the final.
Grace Ruble and
Zoe Froh made the top eight in the prelims, as Ruble swam her way to a fourth-place finish with a time of 4:23.30 while Froh placed seventh (4:25.03). In the finals, Froh moved up three spots to finish in fourth with a time of 4:22.09.Â
Four Vandals made it to the consolation final in the 100-yard butterfly, with
Ani Husaby placing 10th with a time of 55.95,
Bindi Pedersen in 16th (56.88),
Maddy Butler in 21st (56.99) and
Taylor Wassel placing 24th with a time of 57.18.Â
In the 200-yard freestyle, three Vandals placed in the consolation finals -
Rilie Krieg (19th, 1:53.00),
Alexa Teneyck (20th, 1:53.47) and
Bethany Rahn (1:53.75).Â
Ella Haskins posted the highest finish for Idaho in the 100-yard backstroke, swimming her way to a 15th-place finish with a time of 56.38 while
Holly Keir was the Vandals' top finisher in the 100-yard breaststroke with a finish in 16th (1:05.37).Â
The last swimming event of the night was the 400-yard medley relay with the team of
Kaling Phung, Krieg, Husaby and Haskins finishing in seventh place overall.
On the diving side,
Emily Mack represented Idaho in the platform dive. She posted a fifth-place finish with a score of 217.50 in the prelims to advance to the finals, where she finished in sixth place (209.10).
