MOSCOW, Idaho – The University of Idaho was picked eight in STATS Perform Preseason Top 25 Poll Presented by FedEx Ground.
 
The Vandals were picked second among Big Sky Conference schools behind Montana State (third). Sacramento State (10th), Weber State (13th), Montana (14th) and UC Davis (16th) were also in the poll. The Vandals play every Big Sky team in the poll with the exception of UC Davis this season, with three of them (Sac St., UM and MSU) at the P1FCU Kibbie Dome.
 
Idaho enters the year with Preseason Big Sky Player of the Year in Hayden Hatten and several other Preseason All-Big Sky and All-American honorees. Quarterback Gevani McCoy was the 2022 Jerry Rice Award winner for the top freshman in the FCS. 
 
The Vandals open the season on August 31st on the road against Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas.
