COLORADO SPRINGS – The Idaho Vandal men's golf team finished 13th at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invite hosted at the Eisenhower Blue Course on the campus of the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, on Sept. 10-12.
The tournament included 24 teams from across the country.
The Vandals improved every round, hitting 302 in the first, 293 in the second and 291 in the third.
Dalton Dean battled into the top-20 with a third-round 69 to finish tied for 17th with a three-round total of 216.
Joe Sykes finished tied for 47th with a score of 221,
Sam Johnson was T70th with a score of nine-over 225.
Johnannes Hounsgaard and
Tommy Kimmel tied for 93rd with a three-round 230.
The Vandals finished well ahead of last season's result, which say the Vandals finish 21st with a three-round score of 909, 23 strokes behind the 2023 finish.
Idaho travels to the SIUE Dolenc Invitational at the Gateway National Course in Illinois, across the Mississippi from St. Louis. Idaho is the defending tournament champion and looks to defend its title on Sept. 25-26.
