SPRINGFIELD, Ore. -- In a jam-packed Bill Dellinger Invitational field filled with some of the top teams in the nation, the Idaho cross country team left their mark.

The women's squad raced to a 12th place finish in the 6k, while the men's team finished 14th in the 8K contest.

Maya Kobylanski was the top-ranked Idaho woman, finishing her first race of 2024 in 41st position passing through the finish line at 17:44.9. Senior Leah Holmgren and freshman Pia Kircher finished in 74th and 75th. Holmgren completed the 6K in 18:20.3, with Kircher right behind in a personal best 18:20.6.  

On the men's side, the Vandals were led by graduate students Lorenz Herrmann and Sam Fulbright. The duo placed 59th and 61st respectively in the 8k race. Fulbright set a personal best with a time of 24:22.8, just over two seconds behind Herrmann's time of 24:20.0. Gage Zanette was the third Vandal to cross the line, setting his 8K PR at 24:51.5.
