MOSCOW, Idaho – The Idaho volleyball team (1-15, 0-5 BSC) will return home this week to host Weber State (6-10, 3-2 BSC) on Thursday, Oct. 17 and Idaho State (13-4, 4-1 BSC) on Saturday, Oct. 19.
First serve against the Wildcats is set to begin at 6 p.m. on Thursday while Saturday's competition against the Bengals will get underway at 6 p.m. Fans attending the Vandal football game on Saturday against Cal Poly can show their ticket at the door of the volleyball game and receive free entry.

About Idaho
- Idaho enters the week looking to bounce back from a pair of road losses to Montana (0-3) and Montana State (0-3) last week.
- Last time out, Zuzanna Wieczorek led the squad with nine kills against MSU while Taylor Brickey pitched in eight. Ceren Sert posted a career-high six blocks in the effort while Wieczorek added four. Miya Carmichael tallied a season-high 27 assists to help aid the Vandal offense.
- Wieczorek has posted a team-high 127 kills this season while also leading the team with 2.97 points per set and 2.54 kills per set.
- Madu Fontes continues to lead the Vandals with 19 service aces in 41 sets played. She averages 0.46 aces per set, which ranks her second-best in the conference.
- The Vandal offense is set up by duo Natalia Wielgus and Carmichael. Wielgus leads the team with 229 assists while Carmichael has posted 150. In 42 sets, Wielgus averages the eighth most assists per set at 5.45.
- Defensively, Ada Isik owns 114 digs and Emma Patterson leads with 33 total blocks.
Scouting Weber State
- Weber State has opened conference play with a 3-2 mark with wins over Northern Arizona, Idaho and Montana. After starting Big Sky play 3-0, the Wildcats suffered a pair of setbacks against Montana State and Idaho State last week to rank fifth in the conference standings.
- The Wildcat offense is led by Kate Payne and Saane Munyer. Payne ranks fourth in the Big Sky with 544 assists on a 8.4 per set average while Munyer sits sixth in the league with a .312 hitting percentage.
- Defensively, Munyer is a leader in blocks with the seventh most in conference with 75. Libero Marly Pratt sits sixth with a 3.47 dig per set average.
- Idaho and Weber face off for the second time this season and the 48th meeting in the two programs' history. The Wildcats earned a 3-0 sweep back on Sept. 28 but the Vandals have found success in the series at home, owning a 15-6 overall record in Memorial Gym.
Scouting Idaho State
- Idaho State ranks in a tie for first in the conference standings with a 4-1 mark and 13-4 overall record. The Bengals most recently earned a 3-2 victory over Weber State this past Friday and look to improve upon winning six of their last seven matches.
- The Bengals are one of the top blocking teams in the country, ranking first with 3.14 blocks per set and a team total of 217. Not only have they found success on the defensive end, the Bengals also rank first in the Big Sky in four other team statistical categories, including assists per set (11.9), hitting percentage (.263), opponent hitting percentage (.173) and digs (993).
- The in-state rivalry dates back to 1977 with the Bengals owning a 27-24 series history advantage. The Vandals look to end a four-game skid against their conference foe.
