PULLMAN, Wash. – A series of Washington State runs in the second half was enough to help defeat Idaho, 90-67 in the 279th edition of the Battle of the Palouse series on Monday night in Beasley Coliseum.
The Vandals trailed by four points with 17:26 remaining in the second half before the Cougars used a 17-4 run to help build separation, and later delivered a 13-2 spurt to help put the game out of reach.
Despite starting the game with a 7-0 lead, the Vandals could not maintain their momentum due to a 45-29 rebound disadvantage and offensive struggles, which included shooting just 37 percent (23-63).
