Idaho Volleyball Closes Out Regular Season on the Road

MOSCOW, Idaho -- Vandal volleyball (1-24, 0-14 BSC) is set to close out the regular season this week traveling to Northern Colorado (21-6, 12-2 BSC) and Northern Arizona (12-13, 5-9 BSC).

Idaho will travel to Greely, Colorado to face the Bears on Thursday, Nov. 21 (5 p.m. PST) before heading to Flagstaff, Arizona to play against the Lumberjacks on Saturday, Nov. 23 (5:30 p.m. PST).

ABOUT IDAHO
  • Idaho closes out regular season play this week after falling on the road at Eastern Washington (0-3). 
  • Sophomore Natalia Wielgus tallied 20 assists for the Vandals, bringing her season total to 275. 
  • Outside hitter Taylor Brickey led the team in kills with nine, raising her team-leading stat to 168 for the season.
  • On defense, freshman Ada Isik posted 10 or more digs in her eighth game this season, recording 11 against Eastern Washington. She maintains the team lead with 203 digs this season.

SCOUTING THE BEARS
  • Northern Colorado picked up a pair of match wins over Idaho State (3-1) and Weber State (3-0).
  • The Bears are led offensively by Gabi Placide and Syd Cole. Placide is ranked fourth in the Big Sky Conference in kills per set at 3.48. Cole is the conference leader in assists per set at 10.26.
  • Sam Steele supports the team defensively, averaging 3.68 digs per set, placing her at sixth in the conference.

SCOUTING THE LUMBERJACKS
  • Northern Arizona is coming off a 1-1 week on the road after falling to Weber State (0-3) and beating Idaho State (3-2). 
  • Fueling the offense for the Lumberjacks is Taylor Jacobsen. Jacobsen sits at second in the Big Sky averaging 3.75 kills per set.
  • The team is led defensively by Millie O'Ketter and Kendall Robertson. O'Ketter leads the Big Sky averaging 4.83 digs per set. At the net, Robertson leads the team with 12 solo blocks.
