MOSCOW, Idaho – Idaho Vandal football announced the signing of seven new additions to the 2024 recruiting class Wednesday for National Signing Day. The new group includes two receivers, two linebackers, a pair of offensive linemen and a quarterback.
The additions bring the additions to 45 for the 2024 recruiting class, including incoming freshmen and transfers who were previously announced.
Highlighting the late signing day additions are receiver
Marquawn McCraney and linebacker
Braxton Lawrence. Both players had power-five offers before eventually committing to the Vandals.
Idaho's new additions also include a pair of Idaho natives.
Jaxon Peterson, an offensive lineman from Kuna HS, will go on a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints before making his way to Moscow.
Noah West-Baranco, was an All-State receiver for Melba.
LATE SIGNING DAY ADDITIONS
Rocco Koch • QB • 6-1 • 205 • University Place, Wash./Curtis Senior HS
Koch had a successful career at Curtis Senior High School with many accolades. He was named 3x All-Area Player, First Team All-State, SPSL Co-Offensive MVP in 2022, and SPSL Co-MVP in 2023. He racked up 10,432 total yards with 121 TDs during his four seasons. He was a captain for the last two seasons, garnering 2,354 passing yards, 32 passing TDs, 1,706 rushing yards, and 24 rushing TDs during his senior season earning TPAC Fall Athlete of the Year. He also competed for the basketball team, where they won a Washington State Championship.
Braxton Lawrence • LB • 6-4 • 205 • Madison, Tenn./Goodpasture Christian HS
Lawrence had a very successful senior season at Goodpasture Christian. In his final year, he recorded 35 receptions for 544 yards and five TDs, averaging 15.5 yards per carry on offense. On defense, he recorded 74 tackles, four INTs, seven PBUs, one forced fumble and two TDs. Lawrence earned back-to-back First Team All-Region at defensive back in 2022 and 2023. In 2023 he was also named to the First Team All-State at DB as the team captain and also earned the Defensive MVP award from his team.
Marquawn McCraney • WR • 6-1 • 190 • Highline HS/SeaTac, Wash.
McCraney was selected three times to First Team at the WR position and once at the returner position. He was honored as the team MVP two seasons in a row as well as offensive MVP one time. McCraney led Highline HS to three KingCo League Championships. His high school coach was new Vandal running backs coach Deaontae Cooper.
Dylin McIntyre • LB • 6-2 • 224 • Kennewick HS/Kennewick HS
McIntyre is a two-time All-League defensive lineman and was crowned Defensive Lineman of the Year. He recorded 14.5 sacks in his senior season and brought home the league title in 2023 and a state championship in 2022. He was high school teammates with current Vandals Ayden and
Nathan Knapik.
Jaxon Peterson • OL • 6-5 • 270 • Meridian, Idaho/Kuna HS
Peterson was a success on and off the field, boasting a 4.0 GPA. On the field, he earned Second Team All-Conference and was named athlete of the month. He showed discipline on the field, picking up zero flags in his senior season. Peterson and his offensive line competed at the Idaho Potato Bowl High School Lineman Challenge tug-of-war and were crowned champions in the summer of 2023. He will go a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints before he is expected to join the Vandals in 2026.
Christopher Quinonez • OL • 6-4 • 250 • San Jose, Calif./Saint Francis HS
Quinonez was a three-time letterwinner on the varsity football team at Saint Francis. He was a two-year starter at Left Guard and Right Guard on one of the top football programs in the Bay Area. Quinonez was a dual-sport athlete, competing in wrestling as well. On the mat, he competed in the 220 weight class and was highly ranked in the WCAL Conference for the top wrestling program in California.
Noah West-Baranco • WR • 6-4 • 195 • Melba, Idaho/Melba HS
West-Baranco comes to Idaho as a 2x First Team All-Idaho athlete and 2x First Team All-Conference. He broke the school record in receiving yards and was named team captain his senior season. He led Melba High to a third-place finish in the 2023 season.
