MOSCOW, Idaho – Idaho women's tennis collected a 6-1 win over Lewis-Clark State College to close out non-conference play on Wednesday night at the P1FCU Kibbie Dome.
The Vandals (6-4) swept in doubles to pull ahead and build an early lead. The No. 1 pair of
Naomi Schraeder and
Valentina Rodas posted a clean sheet with a 6-0 result before
Ida Johansson and
Saffron Dowse followed suit on court two with a 6-0 win to clinch the doubles point.
Lena Beckx and
Rachelle Starreveld finished doubles action with a 6-3 victory at No. 3 for the duos seventh win of the season.
In single action, the Vandals won in straight sets on five courts.
Rodas was first to finish defeating April Buckingham on court three, 6-0, 6-0.
Diana Khaydarshina would follow with another 6-0, 6-0 sweep on court four. Beckx posted the fourth point of the day, earning a 6-2, 6-0 win on Idaho's top court.
Schraeder and Starreveld were the final two victors for Idaho at the No. 5 and No. 6 positions, respectively. Schraeder outlasted her opponent 6-0, 6-0 while Starreveld also earned a sweep. Dowse dropped a 6-4, 6-3 result on court two to close out play.
