Vandal Men's Golf Looks to Defend Title at Chambers Bay

MOSCOW, Idaho – The Idaho Vandal men's golf team looks to defend its title at the Seattle U Redhawk Invitational at the legendary Chambers Bay Golf Course in University Place, Washington.

The Vandals are coming off a second-place finish at the UC San Diego Invitational at Torrey Pines, but a year ago, the Vandals won the 2023 Redhawk Invitational over Michigan State and Oregon State among other schools.

This year's field includes Oregon State, as well as Central Michigan, George Mason, Gonzaga, St. Thoms, Sacramento State, UC Riverside and more.

The course will play Par 72 at over 6,900 yards.

Johannes Hounsgaard, coming off his second-place finish at Torrey Pines, will lead the way for the Vandals at the No. 1 spot. T.J. Patterson will golf in the No. 2 spot after a solid performance at Torrey. Sam Johnson, Matt McGann and Joe Sykes will round out the lineup. Dalton Dean and Tommy Kimmel will both golf as individuals.

The tournament tees off with an 8 a.m. shotgun start. A live leaderboard will be available on Birdie Fire.
