Vandals Fall to Sac State, 6-1

LEWISTON, Idaho – The Idaho women's tennis team fell to Sacramento State, 6-1, on Sunday afternoon at the LCSC Tennis Center. 

The Vandals were unable to secure a win in doubles play, as the Hornets grabbed wins at two out of three positions to go up 1-0 to start play. Naomi Schraeder and Valentina Rodas were the lone pair to pick up a victory, earning a 6-2 result on court one. 

Schraeder recorded her team-leading 13th singles win of the season and moved to 7-0 against conference opponents. She earned a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Sac State's Irene Riva at No. 5.  

Lena Beckx went to a deciding third set at No. 4, but Elena Mercioiu powered past Beckx, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3.
