MOSCOW, Idaho - The Idaho men's tennis team (5-13, 3-4 BSC) closes out their regular season in Flagstaff, Arizona taking on the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks (15-6, 6-1 BSC) Saturday, April 20th, at 9 am PT.
The Vandals last took on Sacramento State at home, falling 6-1 at the LCSC Tennis Center on Friday, April 12th. Senior
Alejandro Salvador scored the lone point with a three-set victory for his second consecutive win.
Francisco Gay leads the Vandals in singles with a 5-3 record at the No. 1 position.
Mario Duron and
Sebastian Medica have won five of their last eight matches.
Matteo Masala and
Yu-Shun Lai lead Idaho in doubles with a 6-4 record overall.
Series History
The Vandals are 7-9 against the Lumberjacks in their last 16 meetings dating back to 1995. Idaho has won three of its last five matches versus Northern Arizona including a 4-3 win on the road last year. The victory marked the first Vandal win in Flagstaff since 2008.
Scouting Lumberjacks
Northern Arizona is 15-6 on the season with a 6-1 conference record. Northern Arizona is perfect at home this season with a 7-0 record. A win over Idaho this weekend would give NAU a share of the Big Sky regular season title.
Dani Torres leads the Jacks in singles play as the junior posts a 13-3 record on the season with 10 wins at the No.2 position. The duo of Dominik Buzonics and Jakub Prachar enter the weekend with a 10-match win streak and a 12-2 overall record.
