HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Idaho volleyball team fell in a pair of matches to Southern Illinois and Chattanooga to close the Betty Austin Invitational on Saturday.
Southern Illinois 3, Idaho 0
Idaho fell in three sets to Southern Illinois, 18-25, 17-25, 17-25 in the second match of the weekend.
Madu Fontes posted nine kills and hit .261 to lead the Vandal attack.
Natalia Wielgus set up the attack with 12 assists while the defense was led by
Ada Isik with six digs.
Chattanooga 3, Idaho 0
Idaho lost in straight sets to Chattanooga, 15-25, 13-25, 16-25 in the second match of the day. Outside hitter
Zuzanna Wieczorek led the team in kills with 13, while
Natalia Wielgus posted 21 assists. Defensively,
Ada Isik recorded 10 digs and
Ceren Sert led in blocks with three.
The Vandals return to the court next Friday for three matches at the Southern Utah Tournament, Sept. 6-7.
