Box Score 2 Moscow, ID - The 2025 season has begun for the Idaho Vandals, and inside the largest college tennis facility in the nation, the men's team competed tough with two opponents in the same day, earning a dominant win in the process.
The day began with an early morning matchup with the LC State Warriors from in-state Lewiston, ID, and Idaho made a statement as the sun rose. As the clock struck noon, the Vandals pulled off the near sweep, 6-1.
Later in the afternoon, the men were back in action once again as the North Dakota Fighting Hawks strode into the P1FCU Kibbie Dome.
The Vandals found themselves in an early deficit after UND clinched the doubles point and two of the first singles points, but remained undeterred as Chetanna Amadike rallied for a 3-set win (6-1, 3-6, 6-3) to get the black and gold on the board.
Yu-Shun Lai built off the momentum in the fourth match with a 2-0 W (6-2, 6-4) to make the score 2-3 and anyones contest, especially as Gabriel Moroder took home a 2-set win of his own (6-2, 7-6), but the Hawks took home the remaining singles match to clinch the win in the dome.
The Vandals return to action next weekend in Oregon, taking on George Fox and the University of Portland in two weekend matchups on Jan. 25 and 26.
