MOSCOW, Idaho – The Idaho women's tennis team took their talents to California to take on three institutions in three days, scheduled to take on UC Riverside, UC Irvine and UC San Diego. 

The Vandals started west coast competition on Friday at the SRC Tennis Courts against UC Riverside for just the third overall meeting between the two schools. 

Idaho got straight to it, taking the doubles point with duos Hanna Koprowska/Naomi Schraeder and Ida Johansson/Chenyue Xu gaining favorable results. With that momentum, the team was able to come out on top in all but one singles match, securing a 6-1 win over the Highlanders. 

With one win under their belt, the Vandals made the short trip to UC Irvine to challenge the Anteaters. 

The team dominated the match early on, with duos Annabel Davis/Valentina Rodas and Ida Johansson/Chenyue Xu securing the doubles point for Idaho. Singles action also went in the favor of the black and gold, winning four of the six matches. Securing the final point for the Vandals was freshman Hanna Koprowska on court three, making it a 5-2 match in favor of UI.

The Vandals were unfortunately unable to compete in Sunday's match against UC San Diego due to weather conditions but returned home 2-0 on the weekend. The Vandals will make their home debut on Friday, Feb.1 against the BYU Cougars.
