Notables
Offense has been a group effort for Idaho this season, as the Vandals have had six games with four or more players in double-figures.
The Vandals have been the most productive team from three in the Big Sky, leading the conference in three point percentage (36.9) and made threes a game (9.5). Idaho has made five or more threes in 25 straight games, the longest streak in the Big Sky.
Tyler Mrus has powered the Vandals in this attack, with the sophomore guard leading the Big Sky in three point percentage (41.8) and ranks second in total threes made (33). Mrus has made at least three triples in five games this season.
Idaho continues to be powered defensively by
Julius Mims, as the Billings, Mont. native ranks fourth in the Big Sky with 12 blocks and leads Idaho with 6 rebounds per game.
After their win against Montana State, Idaho is looking to beat both Montana schools in Moscow for the first time since the 2017-18 season.
Last Time Out
The Vandals grabbed a huge win in their conference opener against Montana State Thursday night, 69-64. The victory was a complete team effort from Idaho, with four different Vandals scoring in double-figures and three players pulling down at least seven rebounds.
Scouting the Grizzlies
Montana comes to Moscow following a victory on Thursday at Eastern Washington, 92-81. The Grizzlies faced a difficult non-conference schedule, playing four teams that appeared in the 2024 NCAA Tournament and six games against teams that are currently ranked in the top 100 in the NET ranking.
Montana ranks 51st in the nation in shooting percentage, converting 48.5 percent of their shots from the field. The Griz have struggled to pull down rebounds, especially on the offensive end of the floor, as UM is second worst in the Big Sky in offensive rebounds and third worst in rebounding margin.
6-5 transfer guard Joe Pridgen has been the standout player for the Griz this season, as the Massachusetts native has posted 13.6 points and 7.6 rebounds per game, and is one of only five Big Sky players with a double-double in three or more games. Money Williams leads Montana in scoring, putting up 14.4 points per game and has attempted 156 field goals, fifth most of any player in the Big Sky. The sophomore from Oakland filled up the stats sheet on Thursday at Eastern Washington, scoring 26 points and dishing out seven assists.
