MOSCOW, Idaho – Following a third-place finish in his first collegiate race, Kristian Børve was named Cross Country Athlete of the Week by the Big Sky Conference, the first by an Idaho cross country athlete since 2019.
"This is great news for Kristian and our program," Director of Track and Field and Cross Country
Tracy Hellman said. "The Big Sky is a great cross country conference with great athletes, so an award like this is very deserving for Kristian as he has worked hard and is a great teammate."
Børve's 8K time of 23:43.6 at last weekend's Charles Bowles Invitational is the ninth fastest time in the conference this season at the distance. The Norwegian's performance was the first sub-24-minute 8K by a Vandal since Dwain Stucker in 2019.
Børve joined Idaho following an impressive showing in a series of U-20 meets across Europe, a time highlighted by his victory in the 5000 meters at the 2025 Norwegian U-20 National Championships.
