Idaho Heads to California for West Regional Competition

MOSCOW, Idaho - After finishing out their first post-season meet at the Big Sky Championships two weekends ago, Vandal Cross Country is now headed to Sacramento, California where they will represent Idaho at the NCAA West Regional Championships. Both the men's and women's teams will race on Friday, November 14, with the women's 6K beginning at 9:00 A.M. PST. The men's 10K will follow at 10:00 A.M. PST.

The Vandal women are coming off an expected fifth-place overall finish in Bozeman. Sophomores, Jesse Redding and Alex Terry, led Idaho once again with top-15 performances. Mary Nakamura also finished in the top half for the Black and Gold, setting a career best of 17:53.4 in the 5K. Moving into their next feat this week, the women will take seven runners to the Regional Championships, including their sophomore duo of Redding and Terry.

On the men's side, Idaho also placed where anticipated at the Big Sky Championships, finishing sixth overall. Like previous meets, senior Miles Ferguson steered the team with a 26th place finish individually, followed not far behind by Kristian Borve and Ralston Graves, both in their first cross country season with the Vandals.
