MOSCOW, Idaho - Idaho Volleyball has seen multiple highlights in the 2025 campaign, including notable firsts in quite some time. In the first year under head coach Romana Redondo Kriskova without an interim tag, the Vandals have earned the most wins in a season since 2021, the first conference victory since 2022, the first conference season sweep since 2020, and the first season-opener win since 2019.
The Brave and Bold will look to continue the upward momentum, hosting a pair of rematches with Weber State and Idaho State in the penultimate home slate of the 2025 season on Thursday at 6:00 PM and Saturday at noon.
SCOUTING WEBER STATE
Weber State (13-9, 5-5 BSC) has had an up and down year since conference play got underway, sitting at an even .500 in Big Sky matches. The 2025 season has been a tale of two halves when playing in Ogden versus other venues. Since going a perfect 4-0 in neutral sites during the non-conference slate, the Wildcats are 1-7 on the road while being 8-2 in the comforts of Swenson Gym.
Saane Munyer has established herself as one of the most accurate hitters in the Big Sky, knocking down 121 kills on .394 hit%. Kaylie Ray and Rose Moore have been two of the biggest weapons in the league, tallying 3.43 and 3.24 kills per set, good for fifth and seventh in the top ten. In the last matchup with the Vandals in Ogden, Ray tallied 16 kills and Moore followed up with nine, while the 6'2" Brielle Rueckert had a hand in eight total blocks.
SCOUTING IDAHO STATE
Idaho State (7-15, 3-7 BSC) brings to Moscow the same nationally dominant defense that propelled its program to a top two seed in the Big Sky tournament in 2024. Currently, the Bengals have recorded 222.0 blocks as a team, good for a top-40 mark in all of DI volleyball. Similar to the Wildcats, ISU has played some of their best volleyball on their home court, holding a 1-7 record on the road and having dropped their last four straight to the Montana schools and Sacramento State and Portland State.
Marci Bell stands atop the Big Sky in both major blocking categories, having accumulated 108 total across the season and averaging 1.27/set. Conference preseason MVP Jaydin Watts sits at third with 1.13/set and has tallied 86 so far. R-Fr. hitter Abby McClain exploded onto the scene in the two teams' first matchup in Pocatello, knocking down 22 kills and hitting at a .333 clip.
WHITEOUT / BLACKOUT
This weekend will offer Vandal fans a chance to showcase their school pride as they host Weber State and Idaho State. Thursday's contest has been dubbed the "Whiteout the Wildcats" and Idaho will be wearing their white uniforms, and Saturday has been headlined as "Blackout the Bengals" and the Vandals will be decked out in black. Fans are encouraged to tailor their wardrobes to match their team as the program seeks two critical conference wins.
