Box Score 2 MOSCOW, Idaho — Idaho men's tennis fell to both Bringham Young University (0-7) and Cal Poly (3-4).
Starting the weekend, the Vandals lost their battle against the Cougars 0-7. In a fight for the doubles point, duo Francisco Gay and Yu-Shun Lai won their match 6-3 on court two. Despite a competitive fight, the other two doubles teams came up short. The singles play did not go in the Vandal's favor, losing all six matches.
Sunday's match against Cal Poly was fought till the last set, but in the end, the Vandals came up short 3-4. Gay and Lai had another doubles success in winning their match 3-4. Despite this, the doubles point fell to the Mustangs.
Multiple singles matches came down to the wire, with Idaho winning three of the six matches. Gay saw his second win of the day, winning in three sets (6-3, 4-6, 6–4). On the court over Chetanna Amadike stole the win in two (7-6, 7-5). The final victory came on court three from Sebastian Medica (7-5, 5-7, 6-3).
The Vandals will make their next showing on Mar. 2 at 2 p.m. against Gonzaga University in Spokane, Wash.
