MOSCOW, Idaho — Idaho women's tennis extended its winning streak with two more wins against the University of Wyoming (6-1) and the University of the Pacific (5-2).
Friday's match up against the Cowboys ended with a 6-1 victory for the Idaho.
Lena Beckx and
Ida Johansson started the Vandals off strong, winning their doubles set 6-3. Closely following, duo Hannah Koprowska and
Diana Khaydarshina asserted Idaho's dominance in doubles, winning 6-3 and securing the first point in their favor.
Singles play also heavily favored the black and gold, with five of six Vandals coming out victorious. Four players swept their opponents in two sets, including
Annabel Davis, who went 6-1 and 7-6.
Idaho was able to carry their momentum into Sunday's match, taking their fourth win in a row with a triumph over Pacific. The Vandals once again secured an early edge by taking the doubles point. Duo Beckx and Johansson breezed through their match 6-1, while their counterparts Koprowska and Khaydarshina took a 6-2 victory over their opponent.
Transitioning into singles action, four Vandals won their matches to bring home the victory.
Naomi Schraeder fell in her first set (6-7) but made a quick comeback taking her opponent 6-4 in both of the last two sets. The other players who reeled in points for Idaho included Koprowska (6-0, 6-3), Rodas (6-0, 6-3), and
Chenyue Xu (7-6, 6-1).
Following the successes Idaho will continue their home stand, hosting Eastern Washington on Mar. 2 at 11 a.m. in the P1FCU Kibbie Dome.
