MOSCOW, Idaho - The Idaho Vandals returned to the P1FCU Kibbie Dome on Saturday afternoon for their second of six home games in the 2025 season, taking on Utah Tech in a matchup that also marked the 50th anniversary of the Dome. To honor the occasion, the Vandals wore throwback gold home jerseys, paying homage to the 1975 team, the first to play in the facility.

After their team received the opening kick, the duo of QB Joshua Wood and RB Elisha Cummings used their legs to move the Vandals down the field. Idaho continued to advance with a key fourth-down connection from Wood to Ryan Jezioro. Facing another fourth down just outside the red zone, the field goal attempt went wide right and kept the board scoreless.

The Idaho defense set the tone on the other side of the ball, forcing Utah Tech into a quick three-and-out on its first possession. Taking over at their own 30-yard line, the Vandals marched downfield, stringing together four first downs. A 20-yard completion from Wood to Emmerson Cortez-Menjivar brought Idaho into the red zone as the first quarter came to a close.

The Vandal broke through early in the second quarter as Wood capped off a steady drive with a touchdown pass to Jezioro at the left pylon. Cameron Pope added the extra point, putting the Vandals ahead 7-0. Idaho dominated the line of scrimmage throughout the contest, emphasized by Art Williams following up the scoring drive with a career-long 68-yard scamper between the tackles.

The Vandals extended their lead late in the first half after Owen Forsman connected on a 34-yard field goal with 17 seconds left. The Trailblazers responded quickly, with a series of chunk plays and a 55-yard field goal as time expired to cut Idaho's lead to 10-3 at the break. Despite the one-score gap, UI dominated the time of possession, 15:58 to just 0:50 for Utah Tech.

The third quarter remained a defensive battle, with both teams trading field goals to make it 13-6 in favor of the Vandals heading into the final frame. With time winding down, Wood once again delivered with his legs, scoring on a QB keeper inside the red zone that pushed the Vandals' lead to 20-6 after Forsman's extra point. The performance marked Wood's third consecutive game rushing for at least 92 yards.

Idaho's defense sealed the victory late as Aaron Kinsey captured his first career interception inside the Vandals' 10-yard line right out of the two-minute timeout. The takeaway secured Idaho's win as Nate Thomas secured a first down and Wood kneeled out the clock, capping off a celebratory evening in the Dome as the program honored 50 years of history in its iconic home venue.
