MOSCOW, Idaho – Coming off the first tournament win of the season, the Idaho Vandal men's golf team is back in action Monday and Tuesday at the SIUE Dolenc Invitational at Gateway National Links in Madison, Illinois, just outside of St. Louis.
Josh McCartain has put together two tremendous tournaments so far. With all six round even or better so far this season, finishing fifth at the Palouse Collegiate and third at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invite to lead the Vandals to the win. He will play in the top spot for the Vandals.
Sam Johnson will golf in the No. 2 spot for Idaho after finishing fifth in Colorado Springs last week.
Dalton Dean will play in the No. 3 spot.
Charley Simpson will play at No. 4 and
Joe Sykes rounds out the lineup at the fifth spot.
Idaho returns to the Dolenc after taking a year off but won the tournament in 2022 on the back of Sykes four-place finish as a true freshman.
The links style course is set up to play 6,985 yards at par 71. The field includes 18 teams from across the Midwest and West, including Big Sky member Weber state and future Big Sky team Southern Utah.
