MOSCOW, Idaho – After a career month in which he led Idaho men's basketball to some of its biggest victories of the season,
Kolton Mitchell has earned the Superior Floors Performance of the Month, an honor given to the Idaho student-athlete who had the best overall athletic performance throughout the month.
Mitchell, A redshirt sophomore guard from nearby Coeur D'Alene, was among the Vandals top scorers in most of their contests to close out 2025. He averaged just over 15 points per game and dished out 3.2 assists at the best AST/TO ratio (2.3) on the team. Most notably, Mitchell nearly tied his career high in scoring in San Luis Obispo, where his 31 points, 6-12 (50%) line from the arc, and eleven made free throws cemented the overtime road win over Cal Poly. In the closing seconds of the extra period, Mitchell banked the game-winning triple while being fouled to put it away.
Kolton's clutch performances contribued to some of the program's biggest wins so far this season. His 22 points helped the Vandals took down South Dakota State in Brookings, where the Jackrabbits historically do not lose much. The loss was just the eleventh that SDSU has endured on its home court over the last ten seasons, as the team is still an emphatic 13-1 in Brookings this year.
