MOSCOW, Idaho – Wednesday, the Idaho Vandals Men's Tennis team went head-to-head in a double header with Grand Canyon.
In the first match, Idaho was unable to secure the doubles point, dropping in the one and two spots and leaving the third unfinished.
Entering singles play, the Vandals looked to take back the lead.
On court three Paul Janson faced off against Grand Canyon's Daniel Jankoski. In the first set Janson was overcome by Jankoski falling 2-6. With an unwavering desire for victory, Janson stepped into the second set. In the back-and-forth exchange Janson defeated Jankoski 6-4 pushing the match into a third set. The two talents were neck and neck til the very end as Janson sealed the Vandal Victory 7-5. This marked Jansons first win as a Vandals
On court five, Idaho's Sander Paradis told a similar story. Paradis battled Heremana Courte in a match lasting just 2 sets. Paradis shutout Courte 6-3 and 6-2.
Despite efforts, the Vandals could not overcome the Lopes with a final score of 2-5.
In the second contest of the day, a similar story was told. The Vandals had some success as
Chetanna Amadike had his first career win in the #1 spot defeating Andreas Loizas 6-4, 7-6.
In the end, Idaho could not overcome the high-powered Grand Canyon team finishing with a final score of 1-6.
