MOSCOW, Idaho – Idaho fell to the defending Mountain West Conference champions, the New Mexico Lobos, in a Sunday morning showdown, resulting in a final score of 2-5.
In the skirmish for the doubles point, the Vandals put up a respectable fight, falling just short of victory. On court one,
Mikolaj Lis and
Sander Paradis were defeated 4-6. In the number three spot,
Noe De Col and
Paul Janson met the same fate, falling 4-6. In the final battle,
Chetanna Amadike and
Gabriel Moroder took the Lobos' double team down to the wire, securing a victory of 7-6.
In the singles matches, the Vandals put up two singles wins aside from being defeated in the other four.
Paul Janson won his singles match defeating New Mexico's Phillip Bosin in two sets with a score of 6-3, 7(7)-6(3).
Sander Paradis also came out victoriously, shutting out the Lobo Nishant Dabas 6-2, 7(7)-6(5).
